Raiffeisen Ai hackathon: Present an idea and win valuable prizes

  • Students are shaping the future of banking with the help of artificial intelligence

(Sarajevo, 24.04.2026) – Raiffeisen Bank has launched the Raiffeisen AI Hackathon, a competition intended for students from all faculties who have innovative ideas based on artificial intelligence and want to apply them in modern banking. Apart from the competition, the event will be an opportunity to connect with people who inspire growth, exchange of ideas, and development outside the box.

"Strong and long-term cooperation with universities is key to empowering students with the knowledge and skills that keep up with the rapid development of modern technologies. Recognising the transformative role of artificial intelligence, we organised a hackathon dedicated to this topic, which enabled students, along with our experts, to turn bold ideas into concrete proof-of-concept projects. This initiative is a continuation of our long-term commitment to the academic community, including last year's donation to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, whereby we confirmed once again that it is our belief that investing in education is an investment in the future. Through projects like these, we want to support the development of young talents, encourage innovation, and contribute to strengthening the innovation ecosystem for new generations of technological leaders," said Kreshnik Halili, member of the Management Board of Raiffeisen Bank.

Raiffeisen AI Hackathon provides students with the opportunity to work in teams of 2 to 5 members, connect with experts from the banking and the IT industry, find their place and contribute to the development of banking of the future, as well as win valuable prizes. The focus of the competition is on the application of artificial intelligence in sales and marketing, as well as improving the user experience, digital banking, and developing banking models of the future.

Raiffeisen AI Hackathon will be held on May 14th, on the premises of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo. The five best selected ideas will then be presented live, after which an expert jury will select the three best teams that will win cash prizes of BAM 2,000, BAM 1,500 and BAM 1,000. The winners will also have the opportunity to do a student internship at Raiffeisen Bank, bearing in mind that over 50 students are currently doing internships at the Bank, and over 100 of them have started their professional journey through employment at Raiffeisen in the last 10 years, thus further launching their growth.

Applications are open until May 5, 2026, and interested students can find all the necessary information on the  application form.
