AI solutions that change banking: The winners of the Raiffeisen AI hackathon are known

(Sarajevo, 18.05.2026) – Raiffeisen Bank successfully implemented the Raiffeisen AI Hackathon, a competition that brought together students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim was to develop innovative solutions for the banking of the future based on artificial intelligence. 

During an intensive day at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo, in the newly equipped amphitheatre – Raiffeisen Lab, which was financed by Raiffeisen Bank with the aim of supporting young talents and strengthening cooperation with the academic community – the five best teams presented their ideas in front of an expert jury. Three winning solutions, that bring concrete potential for improving banking services, were announced. The best teams were awarded cash prizes in the amount of KM 2,000, KM 1,500 and KM 1,000 along with the opportunity to perform internships at Raiffeisen Bank.

“We are very pleased to see creativity, knowledge and innovation that the students showed through this hackathon. Their
ideas confirm that the new generations are not only following technological trends, but are actively shaping the future of banking. Our goal is to be their partner on this journey – to provide them with support, development opportunities and space to turn their ideas into concrete solutions,” said Kreshnik Halili, Member of the Management Board of Raiffeisen Bank. 

The awarded ideas include innovative solutions in the areas of improving the user experience, smart data analysis and developing new digital banking functionalities, confirming the high level of knowledge, creativity and understanding of modern technological trends among students. The winning teams come from various universities and faculties across Bosnia and Herzegovina, which further confirms the interdisciplinary character and broader importance of artificial intelligence in modern business.

By organizing the AI ​​Hackathon, Raiffeisen Bank continues to actively contribute to the development of the innovation ecosystem and strengthening cooperation with the academic community, opening up space for new generations of experts who will shape the digital transformation of the financial sector. Given the success of this event, it is planned that the Hackathon will become a traditional initiative that will be implemented in the coming years as well.
